As soon as the first tree went down, the Lorax knew there would be trouble. A tall, handsome (lolz, had to throw that in there XD) young man had cut down a truffla tree! One of his trees!
"Hey!"
The man turned to look at the Lorax. "Oh, hi there! Your so cute!" He said, and smiled.
"My name is the Lorax, and I speak for the trees! What have you done?!"
"Oh. I cut down that tree to make my thneed."
"A thneed? What on earth is a thneed? And who are you, anyway?"
"I am The Once-ler! But sometimes my friends call me Oncie. And a thneed is amazing! Everyone needs a thneed! I'm going to become a billionaire selling my thneeds."
The Lorax glared at him. He could sense something terrible would happen if he let this strange man stay here.
"You have to leave! Right now!"
Oncie stared down at him. "There's no way I'm leaving now, I just got here! And I have to make my thneeds!"
"You're bad for the forest, I can tell!" The Lorax growled. "In fact, I can prove you are!"
"Oh, yeah? How you gonna do that?"
The Lorax growled again and grabbed his hand, pulling him to the river. "Sit down for a sec." He ran over to a truffla tree and pulled a tuft of fuzz from it, then returned to the river and pulled out a handful of Oncie's hair.
"OWWWW! What was that for!?"
"Shut up, will you?"
The Lorax dropped the hair and fluff into the river. The water stirred strangely , and the Lorax gestured at Oncie. "Take a look. This is what will happen if I let you stay." Oncie raised his eyebrows, but peered into the river. It was so weird; He could see things. Not things such as humming fish or bugs, but things. A large field dotted with stumps. The same field with a few miles of truffla trees, with workers milling around like insects and chopping them down.
"What is this..?"
"Just watch."
The water turned to a factory, which resembled a castle. The inside was lined with red decorations and trimmed with gold. It was very beautiful. The water then focused on a small office, where a man was sitting with his feet up on a desk, strumming an expensive-looking guitar.
"How ba-a-ad can I be? I'm just following my destiny! How ba-a-ad can I be? I'm just building the economy. How bad can I possibly be?"
"Whoa....who's the hot guy in the green suit?"
"That's you."
Oncie whistled softly, and leaned in to get a closer look at himself. The Lorax rolled his eyes.
"You stop this future from ever happening, and show the yourself the wrong in your ways. Save the trees."
And with that, he shove Oncie hard from the behind, and Oncie fell in into the river with a yelp.
Naw but all in all I love this chapter!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!
