On the side of the street I knew,
stood a girl that looked like you.
I guess that's deja vu but,
I thought, "this can't be true"

'Cause you moved to West L.A.
or New York or Santa Fe
or where ever to get away from me....
Oh, but that one night,
was more than just right,
I didn't leave you,
'cause I was all through.
Oh I was overwhelmed,
in fact as scared as hell, because I really fell for you.
...

You were sitting in a coffee shop by yourself, admiring the miracle on the table in front of you. It was beautiful, it was amazing; it was a Faygo cupcake. The cake itself was a pale white swirled with orange, with the perfect amount of frosting on top, complete with rainbow sprinkles, which added to the miracleness of the pastry. It was a motherfucking miracle. And it was all yours.
You smiled to yourself and held it up to your parted lips, sinking your teeth into the soft cupcake and pulling away with a mouthful of frosting. Mmmm. It tasted just as perfect as it looked.
As you licked the frosting from your mouth, your mind wandered to another, different type of miracle; your ex-boyfriend, Karkat Vantas. He was better than any cupcake, even a Faygo one. He was absolutely perfect in your eyes. He was adorable, funny, crabby-and you missed him so much. You'd been trying to get over him for about six months now.
He was your whole life. He was your first true love; and your first sex partner. Thoughts of that night flooded your senses. A chorus of moans and screams filled your ears and a shiver ran down your spine. That night was literally the best night of your entire life.
You recalled waking up next to him, and feeling a wave of completely confusing emotions overwhelm you. He was still sleeping, cuddled up on your chest and drooling a little, a stuffed crab in his arms. You looked at him and grew even more confused. And scared. You didn't know what these feelings were, and they scared you. That's why you had to end it. And that's why he ran away; to get away from you.

Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y
Just a shy guy
lookin' for a thrill ride,
every day I'm home, I-I-I-I-I know
The way you move me,
everything is groovy
they don't like it to be,
either way you do me.
Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y

You blinked and looked at your cupcake. It suddenly didn't seem as delicious and amazing as it did five minutes ago. You took another bite out of it anyways, and nearly gagged on it; too sweet. You sighed and lowered it to the table and took a swig of your coffee instead. Even though there was enough sugar in that coffee to probably kill someone, the cupcake was a lot worse; that thing was a heart attack with sprinkles.
You put the cupcake back in the pretty little box it came in and hoped it would taste better later. You stood up, and wiped the crumbs off your shirt, then turned to leave. Your gleaming convertible waited for you patently out in the cool air.
A stranger would've thought that car was brand new because it was so well taken care of. It had a brilliant new paint job, which made it look a dark indigo rather than the rusty red colour it once was. The purple contrasted nicely with the pale grey interior, you thought. That car was one of the very few things you could be proud of, and you treated it like it was a newborn child.

On the upside of a downward spiral,
my love for you went viral,
and loved you every mile you drove away...
But here you are again so,
let's see how you've been and
get down to more than friends at last...
Oh but that one night,
is still the highlight,
I didn't need you,
until I came to.
Oh I was overwhelmed,
in fact as scared as hell,
because I really fell for you...

You open the door to your precious baby and sit down in the driver's seat, sticking the keys into the ignition and rolling the hood down. The car let out a roar as it came to life, then died down to a soft purr. You put your CD into the player and start blasting dubstep at the loudest volume possible. You skip a few songs, before coming across your favourite. You sing along at the top of your lungs.

Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y
Just a shy guy
lookin' for a thrill ride,
every day I'm home, I-I-I-I-I know
The way you move me,
everything is groovy
they don't like it to be,
either way you do me.
Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y

You hollered. You cast a glance out the window; a figure in a grey sweatshirt was walking down the street. He turned around as you approached, his hands raised to his ears and a scowl on his face. You looked him over, then spotted the giant Cancer sign on his sweatshirt.
You knew that sign.

Pleeease, belieeeve
that wheeeeen I leave,
there's nothing up my sleeve but love for you,
and a little time to get my head together, too.
On the other side of the street I knew,
stood a girl that looked like you.
I guess that's Deja Vu but,
I thought, "this can't be true" 'Cause

The stupidest thing you've ever done in your life: left Karkat.
The second stupidest thing you've ever done in your life: stopped traffic by stopping your car in the middle of the street and almost getting hit.
You stared at the figure in the hoodie for what felt like forever but couldn't have been more than a few moments. Is that-could it be-but I thought he-?! Your jaw dropped almost to your knees.
The third stupidest thing you've ever done-got out of your car and leaving it in the middle of the street with a bunch of honking, already pissed off drivers screaming curses at you.
You ran over to Karkat and pulled him into a suffocating hug. "KARKAT!!!"
You felt him fail about before he figured out who you were and relaxed. "Hey, fuckass." He said quietly, hugging you back. You felt a few tears dribble down your face, and you pulled away to look at him happily. "I missed you so much, Kar......I'm so motherfucking sorry, I'm so sorry! I-I was scared and I didn't know how I felt.....Can we please start over? Please? I swear to god, I'll be there for you this time! Please?"
"Gam....." You felt him sigh, and grew worried. Was he still mad? "You missed me too, right? That's why you came back, right?"
"Yeah. I missed you. A lot." He hid his face in your chest and hugged you a bit tighter. "But you've got a lot of making up to do before I'm ready to forgive you.....You really hurt me, Gamzee."
You nodded and ran your hand through his hair. "I'm so sorry, Kar.....I'll make it up to you, I promise." You never had been so serious about anything in your life. "I promise."

Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y
Just a shy guy
lookin' for a thrill ride,
every day I'm home, I-I-I-I-I know
The way you move me,
everything is groovy
they don't like it to be,
either way you do me.
Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
this is not a drive b-y-y-y-y-y
so, in case i didn't make this obvious enough; gamzee broke up with karkat after having sex with him, because he didn't know what he was feeling and it scared him. karkat ran away to somewhere else because he was really hurt and heartbroken because he loved gamzee; but he came back to find out why gamzee left him and if they could possibly get back together. and all this time gamzee's been thinking about him nonstop. god, the description is longer than the story.....fuck iiiiiit
